The beautiful wooden ceiling is said to date back to the late 17th or early 18th Century. When gas lighting first arrived in Regensburg at the end of the 19th Century, Münchner Hof's management was very keen on using this then state-of-the- art lighting source. The connections for the gas lights were simply hammered into the old wooden ceiling, where they can be marveled at to this day.
