The Timbered Room
("Bohlenstube")
Once upon a time, only well-to-do patrician families were able to afford luxuries like residential towers and elegant timbered rooms. These timbered sitting rooms had a major advantage over rooms with stone walls: they were easy to heat. Unfortunately, only a few timbered rooms have been preserved completely intact. Luckily, one of them was rediscovered in 1994, and integrated in the hotel.
